The Montgomery County Council is taking on a zoning textual content modification that might exempt developments close to transit hubs from needing parking minimum provisions.
Montgomery County Council President Andrew Friedson is blunt when he talks about housing in the area. He calls it a disaster, and on Monday he informed reporters, “The price of parking is one thing that drives up the price of housing considerably,” typically as a lot as $70,000-$100,000.

After the proposal was launched in November of 2023, all 11 members of the Montgomery County Council indicated their assist for the zoning change.
