His residence has been become a museum in downtown Baltimore, the town’s NFL soccer staff is called after his well-known poem “The Raven,” their staff mascot is called “Poe,” and his gravesite was visited yearly for many years on his birthday by “The Poe Toaster” — a mysterious, nameless determine who would depart three roses and a bottle of cognac at Poe’s tombstone.
