Woodlawn ESOL teacher named Baltimore County’s Teacher of the Year

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. — A 20-year educator who teaches ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) at Woodlawn Middle School has been named Baltimore County Public Schools’ teacher of the yr.

Stephanie Gerhold is presently division chair of the ESOL, World Languages, Science, and Library Media Services applications at Woodlawn Middle.

She was named Teacher of the Year for 2024-25 at a gala reception.

Woodlawn Middle has 81 college students in its ESOL program, and it continues to develop, mentioned BCPS as we speak.

That means about 13 % of the college’s 589 college students want English help.

She has a bachelor’s diploma from Washington College in English and Hispanic research, and a grasp’s diploma from Salisbury University in instructing ESOL.
